Holter monitoring is a small device, similar in size to a pager or cell phone that provides a continuous recording of heart rhythm during normal activity. The monitor is usually worn for 24 hours to obtain a recording of a complete day.
The recording is then analyzed, a report of the heart's activity is tabulated, and irregular heart activity is correlated with your activity at the time. It is particularly useful in diagnosing heart rhythm irregularities that would not be discovered during a routine EKG. 48-72 hour monitoring is also available as well as a newly released 7 day monitor. No special preparation is required prior to testing.
Holter monitoring is being performed in: Cleveland (NOH), Elyria (NOH), Elyria (OMG), Lorain (NOH), Medina (NOH & OMG), Middleburg Heights (Southwest - NOH & OMG), Olmsted Falls (OMG), Sandusky (NOH) and Westlake (NOH).
